Book Signing in LA!
Do you live in Los Angeles? Then mark your calendars for July 20th, 2025 at 4pm. Margaret Gardiner, former Miss Universe, will be appearing at FLINTRIDGE BOOKSTORE, reading from her international blockbuster: ‘Damaged Beauty: Joey Superstar’.
The international fashion model and author of two non fiction books will be available for a Q&A, photos and book signings.
Her first work of fiction focuses on what happens on the edge of the spotlight. Joey Superstar is naked on billboards, like Kate Moss was in the Calvin Klein ads in the 1990s. Women want to be her and men simply want her. Like Moss, Joey manifests mental health issues as a result of how she is treated in front and behind the camera. Damaged Beauty is a story of how Joey fights back and breaks free of damaging coping behaviors.
She confronts the shadows that created the woman who gives herself up to please others. While set against the backdrop of movies, modeling, fashion and photo shoots, it is the story of many women who are encouraged to please others and not themselves, who are made to feel too thin, too fat, not enough. ‘Damaged Beauty: Joey Superstar’ is the story of heartbreak, resilience and redemption that will leave you cheering.
This is Margaret Gardiner’s first US book signing after ‘Damaged Beauty: Joey Superstar’ launched in Africa where it jumped to the best seller’s list in two languages.
